Main Share Account

Saving for your future is very important to reaching your goals, and with a main share account you get so much more. Your share account (or main savings account) is the staple of membership with SouthWest Communities FCU. Every member owns a “share” of the credit union, making our members the true owners of SouthWest Communities FCU!

Membership is available to any persons who live, work (or regularly conduct business), worship, or attend school in, businesses, and/or other legal entities in the following municipalities in Allegheny County:

Crafton, Carnegie, Rosslyn Farms, Bridgeville, Heidelberg, Collier Township, Scott Township, Castle Shannon, Dormont, Greentree, Robinson, Kennedy, Ingram, Thornburg, Pennsbury, Stowe Township, McKees Rocks, & Mount Lebanon

You also qualify for membership if your immediate family member is currently a member of SouthWest Communities FCU, regardless of your residence.

How does a Main Share Account work?

A Main Share Account is a savings account that compliments all other SouthWest FCU accounts you wish to have with us. You will receive one Account Number, and all other accounts you have with the credit union will appear under that number. Dividends are distributed on a monthly basis and will be reflected on your statement.

Make as many deposits as you wish, as well as six electronic transactions from this account per month. If you wish to do more, we recommend opening a Choice Checking Account!

Once you have an existing Main Share Account, you may then apply for any other products & services we offer, such as: Club Accounts, rewards with Choice Checking, VISA Credit Cards, or Personal Loans.
